Alumnus Establishes New MBA Student Fellowship

Alumnus Conrad Zaiss MBA 90, who also earned his biochemistry degree from UC Davis in 1978, and his wife, Pamela Heid, who earned a B.S. and M.S. from UC Davis, have established a $50,000 endowed student fellowship at the Graduate School of Management.

The Zaiss Ventures Fellowship combined with the UC Davis Graduate Student Fellowship Matching Initiative will provide annual financial support for selected MBA students.

Zaiss has mentored researchers and scientists at the Child Family Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s Biomedical Engineering Entrepreneurship Academy and the University of California Entrepreneurship Academy.

As an investor, Zaiss’ expertise is in the medical products area primarily, and companies that have a socially redeeming value and contribute to the greater good. He is the retired managing general partner of Zaiss Ventures in Sacramento.

Zaiss said he and his wife established the student fellowship to “recognize the important role the Graduate School of Management played in our success.”
